Thursday night’s all right for a Party on the Green

HUNTSVILLE – It’s 5:30 p.m. and ya want to rock, get a little action in?

Well, Thursday night’s all right when Mayor Tommy Battle and the city’s Parks & Recreation Department host a free Party on the Green. The event will be from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at S.R. Butler Green Park at Campus No. 805.

Yeah, and it’s all right for Healthy Huntsville to bring fun, food and fitness to this free and family-friendly event, as well.

Also sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama, it will be the ultimate evening out in support of healthy lifestyles.

DJ Lashay B will keep the party moving and the crowd on its feet with a mix of current and classic dance hits.

Baila Huntsville will lead salsa line dancing and there will be soul line dancing with H-Town.

There will also be family and group dance sessions.

Guests can enjoy Wiffle ball, home run derby, scavenger hunts for adults and children, lawn games, prizes and more.

The party and activities are all free, but with so many delicious dining options available, you’ll probably want to have dinner while you’re there.

Several food trucks including Fast Frankie’s Wicked Eats, JJ’s Treats and Vujee Vegan will be on site.

Or grab a bite from one of the Campus No. 805 establishments. Quick mobile ordering will be available from Ale’s Kitchen, Earth and Stone Wood Fired Pizza, Hops N Guac and Rock N Roll Sushi.

“Dancing, fun games and activities, good food and spending time with others provide incredible benefits for the body, mind and soul,” said Healthy Huntsville Coordinator Kevin Ready. “That’s what Party on the Green is all about!”

Sophie Martin, director of corporate communications and community relations for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama, said they consistently look for initiatives that support the health and wellness of Alabamians.

“We are proud to partner with the city of Huntsville for Party on the Green, an event that encourages healthy habits in a fun and family-friendly environment,” she said.

Other events are also held throughout the year. Click here to stay up to date.
