Torch Technologies collecting, taking supplies to North Carolina

HUNTSVILLE — Torch Technologies is loading and taking supplies to North Carolina to provide relief to victims of Hurricane Helene.

To donate items, bring them to Torch Freedom Center, 4090 South Memorial Parkway today until 9 p.m. or Saturday from 9-10 a.m.
The Torch crews will leave at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
Immediate Needs
  • Food and Water: Non-perishable food items (canned goods, dried fruits, granola bars) and bottled water. Food to eat with little preparation, jugs/containers to carry clean water, and food storage containers
  • Medical Supplies: First aid kits, prescription medications, and over-the-counter pain relievers.
  • Clothing and Personal Items: Warm clothing, socks, underwear, toiletries, and hygiene products (soap, shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, female products, toilet paper, towels and insect repellent.
  • Shelter Supplies: tarps, blankets, sleeping bags, camping stoves, tents, tables, and chairs.
  • Lanterns and Flashlights
  • Batteries of all types, solar panel chargers
  • Baby Supplies: diapers, formula, baby food, and wipes.
  • Chargers and Power Banks: for keeping devices charged to stay in touch with loved ones and access information. Charge them before sending.
  • Generators, cans of TrueFuel 2 stroke fuel to operate tools.
  • Chain saws, fuel, chain oil, small green filled propane tanks, grills.
  • Ice chests and wagons
Longer-Term Needs
  • Cleaning Supplies: disinfectants, gloves, masks, detergent, brushes, buckets, shovels, rakes and trash bags.
  • Household Items: basic cookware, utensils, and dishes.
  • Clothing: undergarments, tee shirts and rubber boots
