MADISON — If you’ve ever dreamed of working alongside Sprocket, the famous mascot of the Trash Pandas, you’re in luck.
The Rocket City Trash Pandas will be hosting two job fairs next month: Jan. 16 from 5-7 p.m. and Jan. 18 from 10 a.m. to noon.
The Trash Pandas open the season April 4 at Toyota Field against the Chattanooga Lookouts.
Ellen, a former suite attendant and mother of two in Madison who asked her last name be withheld, said working at Toyota Field was a wonderful experience.
“It was a great opportunity and a lot of fun,” she said. “The employees are really nice to work with. The team is very organized, the management team is organized. They definitely have a vision and they do everything they can to execute that vision.”
The Trash Pandas are looking to fill a number of positions to work at home games and non-baseball events at Toyota Field. The jobs are:
- Food and Beverage (bartenders, cooks, concessions, suite attendants)
- Ushers and Ticket Takers
- Promotions Staff and Performers
- In-Venue Amusements Staff
- Box Office Ticket Sellers
- Production Staff
- Merchandise Sales Associates
- Parking Lot Attendants
- Security Staff
- Guest Services
- Grounds Crew
Ellen highly recommended the job fair, saying there are numerous opportunities to be part of the Trash Pandas team.
“The job fair is very well organized. You basically get to decide what positions you want to apply for and then you do short interviews for those positions,” she said. “So if you want to work behind the scenes, if you want to work on the concourse, if you want to work in food and beverage, there’s a lot of different opportunities.”
Candidates must be at least 16 years of age and have legal work status. During the job fair, applicants will have the chance to interview for a maximum of three positions. Each interview will take about 5-10 minutes. Individuals not hired for one of their top three positions could be offered a role in a different department.
All applicants must have a completed job application prior to being interviewed. The application can be downloaded and filled out in advance by CLICKING HERE, and forms will also be available on-site. Job preference sheets will be available for those interviewing for multiple positions.
Toyota Field will also host college baseball and softball games, including UNA vs. Army Feb. 14-16 and the inaugural Rocket City Softball Showcase Feb. 19-24.
