Turner is the first UAH athlete to be named Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year since 2022 after posting a stellar performance at the 2025 GSC Outdoor Track & Field Championships where he earned Best Overall Performer. He is the first Charger to sweep both honors since Zach Hancock in 2022.

The Fort Payne native took first place in the high jump and long jump at the GSC Outdoor Championships along with a second-place finish in the triple jump.

Cain claimed his seventh men’s Coach of the Year designation and his first-ever GSC women’s coach of the year award after the Chargers won the GSC Outdoor Championships on the men’s side and placed second on the women’s side. Cain was also named Men’s GSC Coach of the Year during the indoor season.
