HUNTSVILLE – “It’s beginning to look a lot like … “
Kick off the holidays with the University of North Alabama community tonight at Bridge Street in Town Centre in Huntsville. UNA is once again sponsoring the annual tree lighting at the outdoor shopping center, with its “Lights Up!” event.
A festive meet-and-greet with Lion mascots Leo and Una will be from 3:30-4:30 p.m. in the UNA at Bridge Street location on the second floor. UNA signs will be displayed to help guide you to the correct location.
Hot cocoa and cookies will be served while supplies last. Then join UNA officials as they light up Bridge Street at its annual kickoff of the holiday season, presented by Shine On, Gold: The Comprehensive Campaign for the University of North Alabama.
This event is sponsored by the UNA Foundation, featuring remarks by UNA President Dr. Ken Kitts, Vice President for Advancement Kevin Haslam, and special appearances by Leo and Una mascots.
“Lights Up!” will bring together thousands of people from across the area to enjoy an evening of holiday magic, live entertainment, and a spectacular tree lighting ceremony.
Tonight’s event features performances from the Alabama Youth Ballet Theatre and local choir groups, giveaways, holiday characters, and more.
Then, Santa will join in at the end of the ceremony to light the 45-foot Christmas tree and launch the light show Friday and Saturday nights.
Santa will also be available at Bridge Street from Nov. 28 through Dec. 24 for photos with the family. Guests are invited to bring their furry friends every Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. for photos.
