UNA-Huntsville? University opens satellite location at Bridge Street Town Centre

HUNTSVILLE – The University of North Alabama has planted its flag in the Rocket City.

Well, not exactly planted, but UNA has opened a satellite location in Huntsville’s Bridge Street Town Centre.

The facility is designed to accommodate UNA events as well as provide office space for recruiting, and groups can take advantage of the on-site classroom space, according to a news release.

“Bridge Street is a vibrant hub for shopping and dining, making it a highly visible and strategic location,” said Dr. Brien Smith, executive vice president for academic affairs and provost. “It serves as a prominent symbol of the University of North Alabama, essentially a billboard showcasing our presence in one of the state’s fastest-growing areas.

“As Alabama’s fastest growing university, with new programs and facilities on the rise, it makes perfect sense for us to be there.”

The location is on the second floor of the Town Center, overlooking the lake.

In addition to the interior space, there is a large classroom space, an extensive outdoor patio, a fully equipped kitchen, and areas for smaller gatherings for conferences or alumni events.

As part of the expansion into the Huntsville/Madison County market, recruiting prospective students is also an exciting part of the Bridge Street location, according to Julie Taylor, UNA’s assistant vice president for enrollment management.

“Already, the location is staffed with an individual who has been meeting with prospective students, sharing the opportunities and benefits of a UNA education,” she said. “We are thrilled to be able to be in this market in order to meet these students face-to-face and provide resources as they enroll and begin their academic careers at UNA.”
