GUNTERSVILLE —  Through the efforts of a state-local-private partnership, a Lake Guntersville boat ramp has been reopened.

The Brown’s Creek Public Boat Ramp was closed in September for upgrades which included a three-lane launching slab and a 150-foot floating access pier. The facility also features 64 trailer spaces, three docks, security lights and is Americans with Disability Act accessible.

The boat ramp is just off Alabama Highway 69 on Lake Guntersville.

The Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources and the city of Guntersville will host a ribbon cutting ceremony Feb. 3 at 10 a.m. Additional information about the event will be posted to www.outdooralabama.com when available.

This boating access improvement project was completed through a partnership between ADCNR and the City of Guntersville. Funding for the project was primarily provided through the Wildlife Restoration Program under the federal Pittman-Robertson Act.

Additional funding was provided by the City of Guntersville and Innovate Alabama, a statewide public-private partnership focused on entrepreneurship, technology and innovation with a mission to help businesses grow roots in Alabama.

WFF operates 20 additional free public boat ramps on Guntersville Reservoir. For information and locations, visit www.outdooralabama.com/freshwater-boating-access or call the WFF Fisheries Section at 334-242-3471.
