HUNTSVILLE — Hang onto your hats, today. It’s going to be a windy Monday across North Alabama, according to the National Weather Service’s Huntsville office.

The office has issued a wind advisory from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. with sustained winds of 20-25 mph and gusts to 45 mph are possible. Unsecured outdoor objects could blow away and
a few power outages are possible.

Strong to severe thunderstorms will be possible Thursday night into Friday morning along the leading edge of a cold front, the weather service said.

Rain is expected to develop Wednesday through Friday. There may be rounds of moderate to heavy rainfall which could lead to localized flash flooding and rises on rivers, creeks, and streams, according to the forecast.
