Alabama Farmers Federation endorses Powell for House District 10

MONTGOMERY — The Alabama Farmers Federation has endorsed Madison City Councilman Teddy Powell for Alabama House District 10, which covers portions of Huntsville, Madison and Madison County.

“Teddy Powell is a strong conservative who understands the needs of the people of this district,” said Charles Butler, Madison County Farmers Federation president. “He will take his conservative values and strong work ethic with him to represent us all in Montgomery.”

The special primary election is Dec. 12; the special primary runoff, if necessary, is Jan. 9 and the special general election is March 26, 2024.

Powell is a first-generation college graduate. He graduated with a B.S. in business administration from Birmingham-Southern College and his master’s in business administration from the University of Alabama in Huntsville.

He has more than a decade of working for the Department of Defense as a civil servant.

“It is no secret that farmers are the backbone of Alabama’s economy, and I’m honored to have their endorsement and support in this race,” Powell said. “Since being elected to the Madison City Council, I’ve worked every day to ensure that our local economy thrives in every sector possible.

“As the state representative for District 10, I’ll continue this commitment by working to ensure Alabama remains one of the most farm-friendly states in America.”

Powell and his wife, Rikki, have been married 18 years and have three adult children.
