AMIIC adds local flavor to support Army modernization

HUNTSVILLE – In case you haven’t heard, Alabama needs 500,000 skilled workers by the year 2025 and Huntsville’s Advanced Manufacturing Innovation and Integration Center is doing everything it can to fulfill that goal and meet efforts to support Army modernization.

To better accomplish this, AMIIC has appointed several local members to its advisory board. They will join AMIIC’s current governing body and bring their plethora of expertise to the organization.

The local members are Dr. Kuan Collins, executive director of Digital Innovation at Axient; Greg Brown, co-CEO and CFO of Brown Precision; Dr. Alisa Henrie, program coordinator for the University of Alabama in Huntsville’s engineering technology bachelor of science program; Johnita Romine, education training programs manager at North AlabamaWorks; and John Stough, chief solutions architect for JHNA.

“We’re honored to welcome the newest additions to the AMIIC advisory board and are grateful for the service of our founding members who helped shape the AMIIC vision and launch us into the community,” said AMIIC Executive Director John Schmitt. “Our newest members represent the very best thought leadership our community has to offer across government, industry, and academia fields.

“They’ll join a powerhouse team critical to our support of workforce modernization. We’re beyond appreciative of their time, talents, and insight in helping to meet AMIIC’s strategic mission for Alabama and for our national defense.”

Collins said AMIIC’s vision to partner in domains like digital engineering and workforce modernization is critical to the country’s national security posture.
