ARDMORE — Progress was made on filling a water tank, but the Limestone County Water and Sewer Authority said it is continuing a boil order for the Ardmore area.
“We will start sampling today to see when we can lift the boil order for LCWSA customers,” the authority said in a Facebook post. “We did gain some ground on filling our northwest tank. The Pinedale tank got water in the riser pipe but did not fill any in the tank.”
The system said Friday it lost pressure in the distribution system in the Ardmore area – a five-mile radius around the Pinedale water tower on Pinedale Road.
“Boil your water for three minutes before using,” the system said in a Facebook post. “We will inform you when you no longer need to boil your water.”

The authority said today’s tests have a 24-hour turnaround time, so it will likely be Tuesday afternoon or Wednesday before the boil order can be lifted.
“As things thaw out today, we anticipate more properties showing leaks,” the statement said. “We will be actively working on calling and visiting those properties. We still have several thousand meters this morning with significant leaks.
“Again, we urge folks to look around your property. Turn off all your home’s faucets, and check your meter. The leak indicator will tell you if there is a leak.”
When the boil order is lifted, the authority will post it and have the EMA office send out an alert to cell phones in Limestone County.
