Art on the Lake coming to Guntersville waterfront

GUNTERSVILLE — For more than 60 years, artists and crafters from across the Southeast have made their way to Guntersville to display their works of art and unique creations for two days in April.

Held alongside Lake Guntersville, Art on the Lake features more than 100 fine artists and craftsmen and along with arts and crafts. Set for April 15-16, the festival also features food vendors, outdoor games and rides, and a bake shop.

During the festival, members of the Twenty-First Century Club will have homemade desserts, including cakes, cookies and pies, available to purchase. Entertainment includes inflatables, a bungee jumper, axe-throwing and carnival-type games.

Art on the Lake is at the Guntersville Recreational Center, 1500 Sunset Drive. The hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on April 15 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on April 16. Admission is $2 for ages 13 and older. The event is held rain or shine. No animals allowed.

Sponsored by the Twenty-First Century Club of Guntersville, Art on the Lake promotes the arts while benefiting a scholarship program for local high school graduates and other student/youth-oriented endeavors.
