As Soccer Fest nears, Huntsville City FC announces youth camps, clinics

HUNTSVILLE –The Huntsville City Football Club continues to break new ground in its second season of professional soccer, this time offering a series of what it calls “one-of-a-kind” youth camps and clinics.

Huntsville City FC, coming off a highly successful first season as a member of MLS NEXT Pro as the reserve squad for Nashville FC of Major League Soccer, is hosting the inaugural Blastoff Battle Invitational this weekend at Wicks Family Field at Joe Davis Stadium.

The Blastoff Battle is part of the first Huntsville City Soccer Fest, which also features two high school tournaments and a youth tournament. The two-day Battle features Huntsville City FC, MLS NEXT Pro newcomer Chattanooga FC, USL League One’s South Georgia Tormenta FC, and UAH, which takes on Huntsville City FC’s Boys in Blue tonight. The four teams are back in action when the invitational resumes Sunday.

This spring and summer, Huntsville City FC will hold youth camps and clinics March through July for players ages six to 13. Players of all skill levels are encouraged to attend.

Attendees will get a unique opportunity to learn the game from the players they see at Wicks Family Field all season long.

In addition to training, participants will play on the same pitch as the Boys in Blue, receive Huntsville City FC camp merchandise, and get a free ticket to a Huntsville City FC match, with parents being able to purchase additional tickets at a discounted rate.
