‘Twas the day before Christmas Eve,
And all through the town,
The Elves in Blue and Lucas Street Church
were shopping around.
ATHENS — They’re taller than your typical elves and their spirit of giving and helping Santa is just as strong.
And the Elves in Blue will be making their rounds Christmas Day.
Recently, Lucas Street Church of Christ in Athens reached out to Mayor Ronnie Marks’s office about a family in need of clothes and shoes for three children for Christmas. The church was already helping the family a little but needed assistance to make it a great Christmas.
Santa’s Elves in Blue answered the call!
Police Chief Anthony Pressnell said the department had money left from the Singing River Smoke-O-Rama donation, and the elves joined the church for a shopping trip Tuesday.
Santa often calls on his Elves in Blue to assist him in making sure kids enjoy Christmas.
On Christmas Day, the Elves will randomly deliver toys to kids in the community. The gifts won’t be on a sleigh, but the trunks of Athens police patrol cars will be packed with toys.
Merry Christmas to all from the Elves in Blue.
