Athens State has largest student enrollment since 2018

ATHENS –With the fall semester underway, enrollment numbers are continuing to grow at Athens State University.

The university has a headcount of more than 3,000 students with more than 27,700 credit hours being produced. This is the first time Athens State’s student enrollment has surpassed 3,000 since 2018.

“We are excited to welcome an even greater number of students this Fall compared to last year,” said President Dr. Catherine Wehlburg. “Our students’ presence brings renewed energy and purpose to our campus, and we look forward to supporting each student’s success as they become part of the proud tradition of Athens State University.

“More than ever, students are seeking a career-connected education, and Athens State is committed to preparing them for their future. Onward Ever!”

Athens State was recognized for its value and affordability, as well as its seamless transfer pathways with community colleges across the state.

As the university looks ahead, officials remain focused on sustainable enrollment growth while continuing to deliver the personalized experience students expect.
