Bank Independent has announced three leadership advancements aimed at strengthening the bank’s credit operations, financial management and human resources functions as the organization continues its growth across North Alabama.

The bank announced the promotion of Will Alexander to senior vice president of credit administration. Alexander, who joined the bank in 2007, will continue serving within the Credit Administration Department and report to Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer Malania Nesbitt.

According to the bank, Alexander has held positions in lending support, credit administration, business development and sales during his tenure, developing experience in the bank’s lending and credit operations.

Bank Independent also promoted Lori Hall to senior vice president and controller. Hall will continue overseeing accounting and financial reporting operations while reporting to Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Adam Compton.

Hall joined the bank in 2003 as a part-time proof operator while attending college and later advanced through multiple positions in credit administration and accounting, including assistant controller.

In addition, Justin Low has been appointed to senior vice president and director of human resources. Low will continue leading the bank’s human resources operations under Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer Penny Camp.

Low joined Bank Independent in 2022 and previously served as human resources manager before becoming director of human resources. He holds a bachelor’s degree in human resources management from University of North Alabama and is a SHRM-certified professional.

“These leadership decisions reflect our deep commitment to recognize those who live out our values every day and continue to make a positive difference for our team members and our customers,” Bank Independent CEO Macke Mauldin said in a statement. “Each of these leaders bring a unique perspective, a strong sense of purpose, and a genuine dedication to make Bank Independent a great place to work and a trusted partner in our communities.”

Founded in 1947, Bank Independent operates 33 sales offices across North Alabama along with digital banking services and an on-campus branch at Deshler High School.
