Bank Independent Toy Share Drive bringing joy to children, families across North Alabama

SHEFFIELD — Bank Independent is once working hard to make sure that all of North Alabama’s children have gifts under the Christmas tree.
For the 14th year in a row, the bank is holding its Toy Share Drive and asking for donations of new and unwrapped toys from the local community. The donations can be made at all Bank Independent locations.
“The Bank Independent Toy Share Drive has become a cherished tradition, helping to bring joy to children and provide relief to families during the holiday season,” said Macke Mauldin, president and CEO of BancIndependent Inc. “Thanks to the generosity of our communities, we’re able to partner with local organizations to ensure that families in need receive the support they deserve.
“This year, we’re excited to build on that legacy and make an even deeper impact for those we serve.”
Hallie Mauldin, community engagement officer at Helping Hands Foundation, noted the impact that the drive has on local children in need.
“We’re excited to kick off our 14th annual Toy Share Drive,” she said. “This drive has brought smiles to thousands of children over the years, and we look forward to continuing to spread joy this holiday season.
“We invite community members to join us in making a positive difference.”
In 2023, the Toy Share Drive collected 3,517 toys and donated $2,519 in cash to partner organizations in local areas. Over the last 13 years, Toy Share has gathered more than $48,000 in cash donations and has had a financial impact of more than $1 million across the region.
Donations may also be made through PayPal or Venmo. All items will be distributed to children in need through partner organizations across North Alabama.
