HUNTSVILLE – Beerologists, hopheads, libationist and chairmen and women of the brewed rejoice. The list of suds available at Wicks Family Field at Joe Davis Stadium is growing. Albeit for a special event.
Nearly two dozen breweries are expected to be on hand for the inaugural “Beer Cup” June 1 from 5-7:30 p.m. The event is part of the “Stadium Series” sponsored by Huntsville City Football Club and Church Street Wine Shoppe.
Among the pop-up breweries will be Yellowhammer Brewing, Straight to Ale, and Back Forty Brewing Company. The Beer Cup is the first of three beverage-themed festivals taking place at The Joe this year. Coming attractions are the “Wine Cup” July 13 and “Spirits Cup’’ Oct. 12.
“Huntsville is a city known for its craft breweries and beer enthusiasts, with beer makers found all across the metro,” said Chad Emerson, Huntsville City FC Managing Director of Business Operations. “We look forward to celebrating those breweries and providing them with the opportunity to showcase their craft for Huntsvillians and visitors from across the region during another great event at The Joe this spring.”
In addition to samplings, attendees can add an enhanced tasting experience, which allows them to sample drinks specially made for the event. Also, gifts and souvenirs will be available from the shops, including Liquor Express/Open Bottle and Pour House Huntsville.
Local art will be on display and Microwave Dave will provide live music and entertainment.
Tickets to the Beer Cup can be purchased here. General admission tickets allow attendees to enjoy the beers, pop-up shops, live music, and local art. VIP tickets include one extra hour of private access to the beer tasting, the enhanced tasting experience, and access to the West Terrace at Wicks Family Field at Joe Davis Stadium, which includes an exclusive cash bar.
