Begorrah! Expect traffic delays in downtown Huntsville for St. Patrick’s Day Parade

HUNTSVILLE – There will be a lot of green and a little red and yellow Saturday in downtown Huntsville
That is green for the wearin’ and red and yellow for traffic signals.
The Huntsville Police Department is advising drivers to anticipate traffic delays downtown Saturday for the annual Ellen McAnelly Memorial St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
Road closures will start at 10 a.m. The parade will begin at 11 a.m. at Lot K on Clinton Avenue West and Holmes Avenue and end at the lumberyard parking lot on Meridian Street North near Howe Avenue Northeast and Cleveland Avenue Northwest.
Impacted streets include Holmes Avenue, Southside Square and Monroe, Jefferson, Washington and Meridian streets.
HPDce will assist with road closures and traffic control. Drivers should be aware of increased pedestrian traffic in the downtown area and are encouraged to plan accordingly.
