‘Big Blue Bash’ celebrates 55th anniversary of UAH

HUNTSVILLE — More than a half-century of charging on and Big Blue will be celebrated Saturday.

The University of Alabama in Huntsville is hosting the Big Blue Bash to celebrate its 55th anniversary. The event, hosted by the UAH Alumni Association, is open to the public and offers free, family-friendly fun.

The celebration is 3:30-5:30 p.m. at the Conference Training Center on Ben Graves Drive.

Schedule of events

  • 3:30 – 4:15 p.m.: Ventriloquist Comedian Gene Cordova. Gene Cordova brings fast-paced, family-friendly entertainment that incorporates magic, comedy, and more!
  • 4:15 – 4:30 p.m.: Celebration Cake with Charger Blue. Charger Blue, the UAH Chargers mascot, will be on hand to help us celebrate!
  • 4:30 – 5:30 p.m.: Trivia. The trivia contest will test knowledge on a variety of subjects — including, of course, UAH. Looking for an edge on the competition? Check out the UAH Alumni Association’s Instagram and Facebook pages for UAH trivia hints.
  • 3:30 – 5:30 p.m.: The 3D printer will create a special Charger Blue to take home (while supplies last). Visitors can also create a digital souvenir photo, meet Charger Blue, and more.

Reservations for the event and team trivia are encouraged. To RSVP and more information is available through Eventbrite.
