HOUSTON — “With the 12th pick of the 2024 NFL Draft, the Denver Broncos select Bo Nix …”
And so continued a journey that has taken twists and turns and ups and downs from youth football through high school accolades to college glory and agony.
A journey that is the subject of a Bolt TV documentary series “Grit & Glory: Journey To The Draft.”
The series directed by Nate Simmons offers an exclusive inside look into the life of Nix as he prepares for the biggest night of his career: the NFL Draft.
The program debuts Wednesday at 7 p.m. CT on Bolt TV YouTube.
“As a kid I always wanted to know how the quarterbacks I looked up to prepared for the NFL draft,” said Nix. “This is an opportunity to do just that — to share my process with the next generation and provide some insights that hopefully will help in their journey.”
The series chronicles Nix and his journey from Auburn where he won SEC Freshman of the Year, defeated Alabama in the Iron Bowl, met his now-wife, Izzy, and experienced transformative seasons at the University of Oregon.
“I’m so grateful to be partnering with Bolt TV to share this story and truly feel they’ve become part of my team,” Nix said. “From day one, they’ve been committed to getting this right and telling an authentic story.”
In three seasons at Auburn, Nix put up 7,251 passing yards with 39 touchdowns and 16 interceptions over 34 games. He ranks No. 3 in Auburn history in passing yards.
At Oregon, in two campaigns he netted 8,101 yards with 74 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Nix set single-season records at Oregon for passing yards, completions and TD tosses.
Last season, Nix broke the FBS record for single-season completion percentage (77.4%), previously held by Alabama’s Mac Jones. He also takes care of the ball, with only 26 picks thrown on 1,936 career pass attempts, including just three on 470 passes in 2023.
The series also dives into Nix’s Combine and Pro Day training with coaches from QB Country David Morris and Ben Neill along with exclusive access inside his draft day party with close family and friends. Interviews include Nix; his parents, Patrick and Krista Nix; Dan Lanning; Kenny Dillingham; and Tez Johnson.
“My goal from the beginning was to create a series where fans could connect with their favorite athletes” said director Nate Simmons “Bo has a story that needs to be told.”
