CDG’s Bounds named Branch Civil Engineer of the Year

HUNTSVILLE — Brandon Bounds, a member of CDG’s geotechnical practice, won the 2023 American Society of Civil Engineers Huntsville Branch Civil Engineer of the Year award at the Engineer of the Year awards.

“This award is certainly a big honor for me, and I’m just thankful to have had the opportunity to serve the ASCE Huntsville Branch and represent CDG in my local engineering community,” said Bounds. “I learned a lot about leadership in my time as an officer with ASCE.

“As I reflect on this season, I think I most enjoyed the opportunities to get to know a wide variety of professionals, create meaningful occasions for others to network, and provide ways for folks to continue their learning through lunch-and-learn type meetings.”

Bounds has been a geotechnical engineer with CDG for five years and is a project manager. He has been a member of ASCE for nearly five years where he has served as an officer for the Huntsville Branch for four terms, two of which he served as president.

Bounds is a licensed professional engineer and has a bachelor’s degree in civil and environmental engineering from the University of Alabama.
