HUNTSVILLE – “United by music and driven by purpose,” the Huntsville Music Office is joining music communities around the world this month for “The Day That Music Cares.”

The event, in partnership with the Recording Academy, is a global day of service organized by MusiCares, the leading music industry charity.

Community members, artists and industry professionals are invited to sign up and serve alongside fellow music lovers for a volunteer service event April 25 at the Food Bank of North Alabama.

“We’re proud to take part in this global effort to give back,” said Huntsville Music Officer Matt Mandrella. “Music brings people together, and this is a chance for our local creative community to unite for a cause that helps our neighbors and reinforces the spirit of compassion.”

Volunteer shifts are available at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. and will involve tasks such as moving boxes, sorting food items and checking expiration dates. Final assignments and details will be shared after registration.

To volunteer, visit The Day That Music Cares website, search for Huntsville, and RSVP to the Huntsville: Food Bank of North Alabama event.
