Huntsville Music Month is getting bigger this year, with the Huntsville Music Office unveiling an amplified lineup that includes new international partnerships, reformatted festivals and events spanning the entire month of September.
The expanded slate follows the release of the city’s 2026 Music Audit, which highlighted record-setting growth across Huntsville’s music scene.
“Huntsville’s music network continues to grow stronger every year, and the 2026 music audit makes that clearer than ever,” Mayor Tommy Battle said. “As we enter Huntsville Music Month, we’re celebrating a community that invests in its creativity, supports its artists and welcomes new partnerships locally and around the world. These events highlight what makes Huntsville special.”
Huntsville Music Officer Matt Mandrella said this year’s lineup reflects the momentum building across the city’s music community.
“What excites me most is the opportunity to celebrate the artists, venues and partners who power our music ecosystem — and to see Huntsville talent taking the stage in Sweden, Nashville and right here at home,” Mandrella said.
For the first time, Huntsville musicians will perform in Sweden as part of a new music exchange program with TIVEDEN Americana. Common Man, Jayne Huntsman and Hugh Lindsey will represent the city at the Live at Heart Conference & Festival in Örebro, Sweden, on Sept. 2, performing at a dedicated showcase hosted by the Huntsville Music Office.
Music Month kicks off that same day back home with a trio of events: AMPLIFIED Open Mic Night at The Electric Belle at Stovehouse, where more than 30 artists are expected to perform with full concert production; Hear to Be Seen 3 at The Orion Amphitheater, showcasing 28 original collaborative works from local musicians and photographers; and Rocket City New Music’s Sound Bites at Lowe Mill, a progressive percussion concert paired with the venue’s visual art and culinary offerings.
LAUNCHPAD follows Sept. 4-5, bringing free, no-cover live music to eight venues across the city in a new citywide format. That same weekend, Concerts on the Dock returns to Lowe Mill for four consecutive Fridays through September, and Jazz in the Park kicks off its Sunday evening series in Big Spring Park West.
Later in the month, Women in Music Week returns for its eighth year (Sept. 12-20), spotlighting more than 50 women in the local music industry. The Music Industry Career Fair & Community Expo follows on Sept. 14 at the VBC East Hall, connecting attendees with job and volunteer opportunities across Huntsville’s music ecosystem.
The Huntsville Music Office will also return to Nashville’s AMERICANAFEST on Sept. 17-18, hosting the third annual Rocket City Ramble and One Big Love — an event founded by Huntsville native Paul McDonald — while participating in a national panel on how music offices can strengthen communities.
Additional September highlights include 805 After Five featuring Ripe and Pat Jamar (Sept. 17), the CulturA Festival’s fifth anniversary celebration at The Orion (Sept. 20), and the ongoing BLAST Music artist submission period through the Huntsville-Madison County Public Library (Sept. 1-30).
Music Month will also feature Golden Hour at the Garden on Fridays throughout September, a Gospel Skate Night at Stoner Park on Sept. 6, and performances by Huntsville City Schools students ahead of the Sept. 10 and Sept. 24 City Council meetings.
