Residents looking for ways to give back to the community will have an opportunity next month as Madison Visionary Partners and the Huntsville-Madison County Public Library host a Community Volunteer Fair in Madison.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, April 11, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Madison Public Library. Organizers say the fair is designed to connect local nonprofit and community organizations with residents interested in volunteering.

More than 25 organizations are expected to participate, sharing information about their missions and available volunteer opportunities. Organizers say the event will feature groups focused on youth mentorship, environmental initiatives, arts programs, education and other community outreach efforts.

“Our community thrives when people step up to serve,” said Christina Hearne. “This Volunteer Fair is about making it easy for residents to discover how they can plug in and make a difference right here at home. We are excited to partner with the Library to bring so many incredible organizations together under one roof.”

The event is free and open to the public, and no registration is required. Organizers encourage teens seeking service hours, adults looking to volunteer and families interested in serving together to attend.

Carolyn Reagle said the library system is pleased to host the event.

“We are thrilled to collaborate with Madison Visionary Partners to host this Volunteer Fair,” Reagle said. “Libraries are community connectors, and this event reflects our mission to support civic engagement and lifelong involvement. We look forward to welcoming residents and helping them find meaningful opportunities to serve.”

The Madison Public Library is located at 142 Plaza Boulevard. Organizers say attendees can stop by anytime during the two-hour event to meet with participating organizations and learn about volunteer roles that match their interests and schedules.
