HUNTSVILLE — With more than 10 years in the healthcare industry, Justin Serrano has been named CEO of Crestwood Medical Center, the Board of Trustees announced Thursday.
Serrano, the current CEO of Santa Rosa Medical Center in Milton, Fla., will officially begin Dec. 9.
“Justin has a proven track record of operational excellence, strategic vision, and commitment to patient-centered care,” said Crestwood Board Chairman Mike Gillespie. “His background and expertise, along with his commitment to working closely with the medical staff to continuously improve quality and patient experience, are exactly what we need to support continued growth in Huntsville.”
While at Santa Rosa, Serrano has led efforts to advance quality, expand access to primary care, and implement strategies that improve operational efficiency and patient outcomes, according to a Crestwood news release. Additionally, he has played a major role in strengthening Santa Rosa Medical Center’s cardiac, stroke, and emergency care services, including achieving Level 1 Adult Cardiovascular Service licensure.
Serrano has a master’s of health adminstration from from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and a bachelor of arts in public health studies from Johns Hopkins University.
He succeeds Matthew Banks, who resigned in August.
