Developers behind the $220 million Front Row development have announced the start of pre-leasing for The Residences at Front Row, marking a major step forward for the mixed-use development rising in downtown Huntsville.

Essex Capital and Ascend Property Group said the residential website launched Feb. 24, giving prospective tenants their first opportunity to explore floor plans, check availability and secure units. Initial move-ins are targeted for June 2026.

Located across from the expanding Von Braun Center, the first phase of Front Row is designed as a hospitality-inspired destination blending rental residences, curated retail, Class A office space, public art and green space in the heart of downtown.

Developers describe the residential component as centered on connection and community, offering units ranging from studios to multi-bedroom apartments. Planned amenities include co-working lounges, rooftop spaces and resort-style pool decks in each residential building.

The two buildings will frame a central urban green intended to function as an outdoor gathering space, surrounded by patios, public art installations and nearly 50,000 square feet of experiential retail. Outdoor cooking stations, gaming areas and lounge-style seating are planned as part of the amenity offerings.

Through the new website, prospective residents can explore floor plans, request pricing and schedule tours.

Front Row’s timeline aligns with other major projects underway downtown, including the Riverwalk and a planned pedestrian Skybridge that will connect the urban core to Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment. The development also sits near Big Spring Park, Fountain Circle and the University of Alabama in Huntsville, with access to Redstone Arsenal and Cummings Research Park.

Developers said additional announcements regarding office tenants, retail concepts and food and beverage offerings will be released at a later date as the project continues its phased rollout.
