Five restaurants closing in North Alabama

MUSCLE SHOALS – The Shoals area is losing five dining establishments on Saturday.

Messages on the 306 BBQ Facebook pages all say the same thing: The restaurant is closing its Florence, Muscle Shoals, and Russellville locations on Saturday, January 25. Additionally, Southern Hospitality Holdings is also shuttering its Smokin’ Jalapeno and Birdy’s Sports Grill businesses in Muscle Shoals. Those two restaurants and 306 BBQ all occupy the same building on Avalon Avenue.

With less than a week’s notice to staff and customers, the message on the 306 BBQ Facebook pages stated:

“To our loyal customers and community,

It is with heavy hearts that we announce Southern Hospitality Holdings will be closing 306 BBQ … on January 25, 2025.

We are incredibly grateful for your support and patronage over the years. Serving you has been an honor, and we deeply appreciate the memories we’ve created together.

Thank you for being part of our journey.

With gratitude,

The Southern Hospitality Holdings Team”

The Florence restaurant is located on Court Street downtown, and the Russellville store is located on Highway 43.
