Huntsville Animal Services hosts outreach event to support families, pets in need

HUNTSVILLE – Huntsville Animal Services, in partnership with Helping Animals Without Shelter, invites pet owners and animal lovers to a Pawsitive Outreach Community Event this weekend.

Hosted at Tractor Supply on North Memorial Parkway, the event is Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

This special event aims to support pet owners in need by offering free spay/neuter vouchers, dog food (while supplies last) and flea/tick preventatives.

“By partnering with HAWS, we are strengthening our commitment to keeping pets healthy and with the families who love them,” said Animal Services Director John Fischer. “This event is about more than giveaways — it’s about building a compassionate community where no pet goes hungry or without proper care.”

Animal Services staff will be on-site to assist community members in signing up for the new Animal Services Pet Food Pantry, which provides ongoing pet food assistance for families facing financial hardship.

Attendees can also purchase a meal of a hot dog, chips, water and cookies for $1.
