Huntsville Animal Services to host ‘May the 4-Pawed Be With You’ adoption event with waived fees

Huntsville Animal Services will celebrate May the 4th with a themed adoption event offering free pet adoptions for one day only.

The “May the 4-Pawed Be With You” adoption day is set for Monday, May 4, at the shelter located at 4950 Triana Blvd. All dog and cat adoption fees will be waived as part of the event, aimed at connecting more animals with permanent homes.

“Whether you’re seeking a loyal co-pilot or a wise little creature full of personality, you just might find the pet you’re looking for,” said Director John Fischer. “The Force is strong with our adoptable animals, and we hope to see many of them off to their new homes.”

Officials say the themed event offers a lighthearted way to engage the community while encouraging adoption. The shelter is inviting families, individuals and science fiction fans alike to visit, meet adoptable pets and take part in the festivities.

“These are not the droids you’ve been looking for, but they are the best pet friends you’ve been searching the galaxy for,” Fischer said.

All adoptions include vaccinations, microchipping and spay or neuter services. Shelter staff say the event is an ideal opportunity for those considering pet ownership to take the next step.

A full list of available animals can be found on the shelter’s website and social media channels. Animal Services is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Tuesday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Call 256-883-3782, visit HuntsvilleAL.gov/Animal.
