HUNTSVILLE – As the region continues to move further away from last week’s deep freeze that brought daily routines to a halt, residents are asked to be patient and making allowances regarding regular civic business.
Huntsville sent an alert that garbage collection in some areas might be delayed, and has waived restrictions on placing bags outside of trash containers as the Huntsville Public Works department recovers lost time.
Meanwhile, Huntsville Utilities was unable to receive mail the week of Jan. 15-19. Because of this, measures have been put in place to allow customers additional time for payment of bills due during this period.Â
The utility has announced suspension of any service interruptions for non-payment and any associated late payment fees during the weather event. This suspension is through this week; normal operations will resume Monday.
Customers are reminded they can access and pay their bill anytime by creating a free online account through the My Account feature on the Huntsville Utilities website (www.hsvutil.org).Â
Customers needing assistance should call 256-535-1200, Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. to speak to a customer service representative.
