Huntsville veterans, transitioning service members and military families will have an opportunity to connect with employers and local support organizations next week during a free career and transition fair at the Von Braun Center.
Your Next Mission® Huntsville SMD 2026 will be held Wednesday, Aug. 12, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Mars Music Hall in conjunction with the 2026 Space & Missile Defense Symposium.
The event will feature more than 30 companies and organizations seeking to hire veterans, along with resources to help veterans translate their military experience into civilian employment.
Local nonprofit Still Serving Veterans will be on hand to provide resume and LinkedIn reviews and help attendees prepare for conversations with prospective employers.
Based in Huntsville, Still Serving Veterans works with veterans and their families to help them navigate the transition from military service and connect with employment, education and other resources.
Alabama veteran service organizations also will be available during the event to help veterans understand and access benefits they have earned through military service.
Admission is free for veterans, transitioning military service members and military families.
Organizers encourage attendees to research participating employers before the event, dress for success in business attire or military uniform and bring enough resumes to distribute to government and private-sector exhibitors.
The event also provides a direct connection to Huntsville’s large defense and aerospace employment market, where military experience and technical skills can translate into opportunities across the region’s government contracting and national security industries.
Your Next Mission® Huntsville SMD 2026 is part of the American Freedom Foundation’s nationwide initiative supporting veterans, transitioning service members and military families. The Huntsville event is being presented in association with Still Serving Veterans and the Space & Missile Defense Symposium.
