HUNTSVILLE – Downtown Huntsville, Inc., is raising the stakes for after-hours nightlife with a project aimed at energizing the city’s vibrant community of young professionals.
The initiative – 805 After Five – promises an unparalleled experience every third Thursday from May to October at Campus 805’s Butler Green Park.
In partnership with the Huntsville Music Office, each installment of 805 After Five will feature a free concert by a touring act, providing the perfect soundtrack to kickstart the weekend early.
According to DHI, attendees can expect an eclectic lineup of musical talents released prior to the concert each month.
The first 805 After Five event on May 16 features The Lemon Twigs. The Long Island indie-rock band will be performing original singles and hits from their upcoming album, “A Dream Is All We Know,” which drops Friday. The Lemon Twigs have received national attention, performing on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” and “CBS This Morning.” The opening act for the concert will be Crystal Egg, an up-and-coming indie band.
Beyond the music, there will be a multitude of activities, including vendor booths, yard games, food trucks, and a selection of beverages from Straight to Ale and Yellowhammer. Additionally, community partners will host interactive experiences and/or giveaways.
“We are thrilled to introduce 805 After Five to the Huntsville community,” said Rob Buddo, president and CEO of Downtown Huntsville, Inc. “This event series embodies our commitment to fostering a vibrant downtown environment where people can come together to enjoy great music, delicious food, and exciting activities — all while celebrating the lively atmosphere of West Huntsville and Butler Green.”
The 805 After Five is from 5-8 p.m. May 16, June 20, July 18, Aug. 15, Sept. 19 and Oct. 17.
