Limestone County Courthouse to ‘light it up blue’ for autism awareness

ATHENS — It’ll be a blue evening at the Limestone County Courthouse today.

But, it’s not blue as in sadness but blue as in awareness.

The courthouse is being lit blue in recognition of April being Autism Awareness month. The lighting, presented by Make A Way Foundation, is today at 5 p.m. on the east side of the courthouse.

Make A Way Foundation, founded in 2019, works with schools systems and churches across North Alabama to open doors for special needs children, teens, and adults. The mission of the chartered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization is to provide resources to assist groups of people with special needs in a learning or recreational environment.

The public is invited.
