Lockheed awarded $1B Navy missile contract modification

WASHINGTON — With more than one-third of the work targeted for Huntsville, Lockheed Martin Space was awarded a more than $1 billion contract modification by the Navy.

The contract modification with a not-to-exceed amount of $1,002,700,000 under an existing contract, will support program management, engineering development, systems integration, long lead material, and special tooling and equipment in support of missile and launching platform production for Conventional Prompt Strike, the Department of Defense announced.

Along with Huntsville, work will be performed in Denver; Sunnyvale, Calif.; Titusville, Fla.; and other locations.

The work is expected to be completed Aug. 31, 2028.
