Long-Lewis Automotive Group has expanded into North Alabama’s growing automotive market through the acquisition of the former Bramlett Kia and GMC dealerships in Decatur.
The dealerships will now operate as Long-Lewis Kia of Decatur and Long-Lewis GMC of Decatur, marking the company’s first presence in the Decatur-Huntsville metropolitan area.
Long-Lewis officials said the transition will preserve much of the existing dealership staff while introducing the company’s customer service model, which emphasizes upfront pricing, no hidden fees or markups, non-commissioned sales professionals, competitive trade values and a money-back guarantee.
“The Bramlett family has built an outstanding reputation by earning the trust of customers throughout North Alabama, and we have tremendous respect for the legacy they leave behind,” said Christopher Ouellette, chief operating officer of Long-Lewis Automotive Group. “Our commitment is to build on that foundation the same way Long-Lewis has for generations: with honest, transparent business practices, a no-nonsense approach to car buying, and taking care of our customers.”
The acquisition builds on the legacy established by the Bramlett family, which operated the dealerships for decades and developed a loyal customer base throughout Decatur and North Alabama.
Company officials said retaining familiar employees is intended to provide continuity for customers while introducing Long-Lewis’ longstanding business philosophy.
Founded in 1887 in Bessemer, Long-Lewis Automotive Group describes itself as Alabama’s oldest and largest automotive dealership group. The company began as a hardware business before becoming one of the nation’s first Ford dealerships in 1915.
Today, Long-Lewis operates multiple dealerships across Alabama and remains family-owned.
The company also said it plans to continue supporting charitable and faith-based organizations in the Decatur area through the Long-Lewis Foundation as it establishes a presence in the community.
