FabArc Steel Supply and Turner Industries announced a lease-purchase agreement for Turner’s fabrication facility in Decatur, a move the companies say will support continued industrial growth and workforce stability across the Tennessee Valley.

The agreement includes Turner Industries’ fabrication facility, featuring more than 60,000 square feet of fabrication space on approximately 29 acres. Under the agreement, FabArc will lease the facility with an option to purchase it at the end of the lease term.

FabArc officials said the expansion comes as the company scales operations to meet increasing national demand. As part of the transition, the company has onboarded approximately 35 employees connected to the facility’s fabrication operations in an effort to maintain continuity and retain regional workforce expertise.

Turner Industries CEO Stephen Toups said the agreement marks a shift toward a broader regional operating strategy while maintaining the company’s presence in North Alabama.

“After several years in our Decatur office, we are transitioning to a flexible, region-wide operational model,” Toups said. “Our address in the area will change, but our commitment to the Tennessee Valley and our clients in the region is as strong as ever. We will continue supporting the industry and surrounding communities in the same way we have for over a decade.”

Tom Adams, president and chief executive officer of FabArc Steel Supply, described the agreement as the beginning of a longer-term partnership between the two companies.

“We view this agreement as more than a strategic expansion, it marks the beginning of a strong and lasting relationship between FabArc and Turner Industries,” Adams said. “This opportunity allows us to build on an established foundation in Decatur while continuing to deliver high-quality fabrication services to our clients. We are confident this partnership will create lasting value for both companies and the communities we serve.”

Turner Industries will retain access to the facility as needed to support existing contracted work and ongoing client projects during the transition period. The companies expect the transition to be completed by May 11, 2026.

FabArc, headquartered in Oxford, Alabama, was founded in 1979 and operates two manufacturing plants with more than 300,000 square feet of fabrication space. The employee-owned company employs more than 300 workers and specializes in structural steel fabrication projects across the United States.

Turner Industries, headquartered in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, provides industrial construction, maintenance, fabrication and specialty services nationwide and employs more than 20,000 people across the country.
