MADISON — The Madison Chamber of Commerce is hosting a “Welcome Back” gathering next month for the newly appointed chair of the Madison County Commission, former Alabama Speaker of the House Mac McCutcheon.

The event, which is open to the public, will be May 3 from 5-7 p.m. in the Hexagon lobby, 305 Intergraph Way.

After serving six years as Speaker and 16 total years in the Legislature, McCutcheon was appointed to the commission position by Gov. Kay Ivey.

“I have made honesty and integrity a priority in my administration, and I know that you will embody these two virtues while serving the people of Alabama,” Ivey wrote to McCutcheon.

McCutcheon replaced former Commission Chair Dale Strong who was elected to Congress last November.

Tickets are $35 per person for Madison Chamber members; $40 per person for non-members and $240 for groups of eight.
