MADISON — The Madison County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying those responsible for the vandalism at a Madison church this week.
According to the sheriff’s office, messages were spray-painted messages on the exterior walls and entry doors of The Movement Church between 5 p.m. Tuesday and 8 a.m. Wednesday. The church is at 1469 Browns Ferry Road.

The graffiti referenced a speaking event at the church this week, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.
“Every person, regardless of their beliefs or affiliations, deserves to feel safe where they worship, work, or gather,” Sheriff Kevin Turner said. “Our office will use every available resource to identify those responsible for this senseless act and bring them to justice.”
Detectives are reviewing the evidence and are asking residents and business owners in the area to check their security cameras or doorbell footage for any suspicious activity that may have occurred during the time of the incident.
“Even small details, such as an unfamiliar vehicle, a person on foot, or unusual sounds or movements, could provide valuable leads to help solve this case,” the news release said.
Anyone with information is urged to contact the Madison County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division at 256-533-8820 or 256-722-7181.
