Madison pizza favorite Valentina’s reopens at new site with week-long promotions

MADISON – There’s a new location just down the block, but Original Valentina’s Pizzeria & Wine Bar promises the same atmosphere and food that made it a go-to Italian joint since launching in 2020.

There will even be some new items on the menu as well when the restaurant reopens today at 4 p.m. at 25793 Huntsville Browns Ferry Road – just minutes from its original spot on the same road in rural Madison.

Fans of the restaurant will still find what it terms “an award-winning array of traditional and eclectic Italian-style pizzas and cuisine” that aficionados expect.

A ribbon-cutting was held Monday afternoon with representatives from the Huntsville-Madison County Chamber of Commerce and Madison Chamber of Commerce.

Through Dec. 13, customers placing dine-in or carry-out orders will be entered for a chance to win free pizza for a year. Additionally, Valentina’s will be giving away branded T-shirts, koozies, and bottle openers to demonstrate their appreciation to those in attendance.

Flourish Consulting Services, which announced the opening in a press release, said Valentina’s owner Joe Carlucci’s “has quite the story.”

“From being a seven-time World Pizza Champion to losing it all due to business failures, Joe has gone through countless highs and lows in his career,” the news release said. “All of which finally led him to Valentina’s, which he named after his daughter. Valentina’s brings the finest traditional and eclectic Italian-style pizzas to Madison, but it is clear that the pizzas are not all that make this restaurant special.”

In spring 2022, following Carlucci’s win at the International Pizza Challenge in Las Vegas to claim the title “Best Traditional Pizza in the World,” he told 256 Today, “This is for the whole state of Alabama and the South, we now have the bragging rights over New York, we have the best pizza in the world!”

Among the offerings on the menu is the New York-style pie, The Godfather — red sauce base, mozzarella, soppressata, sweet Italian sausage, charred pepperoni, house-seasoned bacon, and house-made meatballs.
