NAITA hosting Foreign Military Sales Industry Day

HUNTSVILLE — The North Alabama International Trade Association is hosting Foreign Military Sales Industry Day this month at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center.

This year’s event is April 13 and features the U.S. Army Security Assistance Command. It will be from 1:30-5:30 p.m. in the National Geographic Theater inside the Davidson Center for Space Exploration.

Keynote speaker Brig. Gen. Brad Nicholson, commander of USASAC, will provide the senior leader perspective on foreign military sales and security assistance across the globe.

“The Army is modernizing at a rapid pace,” said Nicholson. “But modernizing involves more than just weapons systems. USASAC is ensuring that America’s network of allies and partners are equipped and enabled so the Army can leverage those partnerships to achieve dominance and overmatch in the future battlespace.”

Headquartered at Redstone Arsenal, USASAC heads the AMC Security Assistance Enterprise in developing and managing security assistance programs.

Foreign Military Sales is the U.S. program for procuring defense products, services and training for other nations and international organizations.

Countries may obtain materiel and services with their own funds or through U.S. government-sponsored assistance programs and, in certain cases. on a grant basis.

Sales opportunities and regional updates will be discussed, as well as business collaboration opportunities.

Regional operation updates and involvement of small businesses will be discussed.

A networking reception during the Biergarten under the Saturn V rocket at the Davidson Center for Space Exploration will be held following the formal program.

Ticket prices are $35 for NAITA members, $50 for non-members and government contractors. It is free for government employees.
