On your mark. Get set. Glow! Research Park 5K run benefits Downtown Rescue Mission

HUNTSVILLE — Take hundreds of runners, add some starlight with a little neon and you’ve got one of the most unique road-racing events anywhere.

And, it’s coming next month to Huntsville’s Cummings Research Park.

The Glow Run 5K, a benefit for the Downtown Rescue Mission, steps off 7 p.m. March 2 at AdTran’s east tower.

Activities start at 6 p.m. and will be held before, during and after the race along a starlight and neon street course. According to a news release, the event will feature:

  • Zumba Warm-Up
  • Laser Light Show
  • Food Trucks
  • DJ Dance Party
  • Photo Area
  • Face painting
  • Vendor giveaways
  • Live music
This will be a timed, certified race course with awards. For information, visit www.drmglowrun.org.
