PALS holding golf scramble to support Huntsville City Schools

HUNTSVILLE – The nonprofit Partners for Athletes and Leaders in Schools is holding its biggest fundraiser Monday with a golf scramble at Huntsville Country Club.

This is the third annual event for the 501(c) (3) organization, known by the acronym PALS, which donates to Huntsville City Schools’ sports, cheer and band programs.

Anyone wishing to make a donation to support the group’s mission can do so at the website.

“We’ve done well the past two years,” said Bryan Dingo, president of the 10-member volunteer board of directors. We’re a nonprofit so we’re an open book.

“We raised proceeds of $14,000-$16,000 the past two years.”

PALS was unable to secure a title sponsor this year, but even without one Dingo expects to come away with a $12,000 surplus for the budget.

“We’ve got our highest number of groups with 19,” he said.
