Redstone Arsenal officials are urging employees and visitors to add extra time to their commute as heightened security measures remain in place due to ongoing U.S. military operations involving Iran.

The increased security posture was directed by U.S. Northern Command and applies to installations nationwide.

At Redstone, that includes no-exception ID checks at all gates and suspension of the Trusted Traveler Program, which requires every adult in a vehicle to present approved credentials.

Officials told 256 Today that during peak commuter hours, drivers should plan for delays of approximately 20 minutes. Wait times during off-peak hours have been shorter.

The enhanced security measures are expected to remain in place for around 30 days, though officials noted that timeframe is subject to change based on evolving conditions.

Installation leaders said the precautions are designed to protect service members, civilian employees and the broader Redstone community.
