HUNTSVILLE — A second hotel is coming to Redstone Gateway, the booming mixed-use development at Redstone Arsenal’s Gate 9.

Corporate Office Properties Trust and Redstone Gateway have announced construction of a Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott. The 150-room hotel is scheduled to be completed next summer.

The developer is the Huntsville-based firm, Doradus Partners. Fairfield Inn and Suites will be the second hotel at Redstone Gateway, joining the 120-room Towne Place Suites by Marriott.

“The demand for a second hotel became a priority as soon as the Towne Suites was built,” said James Lomax, COPT’s Huntsville vice president of asset management and leasing. “We are pleased to be associated with Doradus Partners, a local company that is developing the Fairfield
Inn and Suites project.”

Doradus Partners is a privately held, boutique real estate investment company which also has an office in Orlando, Fla.

“We are excited to bring Fairfield Inn and Suites to the Redstone Gateway campus,” said Srinath Yedla, CEO of Doradus Partners.”The need for a second hotel was obvious as Huntsville and Redstone Arsenal expands to meet the demands of new companies moving here.”
