Second Mile Development will host acclaimed singer-songwriter, musician and children’s author Jennifer Daniels for a two-day fundraising event Jan. 23–24, 2026, featuring an intimate benefit concert and a free, family-friendly performance, with proceeds supporting programs that serve children and families across North Alabama.
The weekend begins Friday, Jan. 23, with a benefit concert at the new Fantasy Playhouse Theatre. Daniels, known for her soulful storytelling, heartfelt lyrics and engaging stage presence, will perform original music in an intimate singer-songwriter-style setting. She is joined by her husband and musical partner, Jeff Neal, whose lead guitar and mandolin provide the folk-rock duo’s signature sound.
A limited number of VIP pre-show tickets are available and include access to a creative workshop with Daniels prior to the performance. Ticket sales from Friday’s concert will directly benefit Second Mile Development’s programs.
“Music brings people together in a meaningful way,” said Vicky Hinton, executive director of Second Mile Development. “Jennifer’s ability to connect with both adults and children makes this weekend of live music events especially powerful. Every ticket purchased and every note sung helps us further our mission.”
On Saturday, Jan. 24, Daniels will return for a free, interactive family performance at Trinity Methodist Church. Designed for children and their caregivers, the show blends music, storytelling and audience participation. Following the performance, Daniels will host a book signing featuring her children’s and young adult titles. While the Saturday event is free to attend, donations will be accepted.
Daniels is widely recognized for creating music and stories that resonate with audiences of all ages, encouraging imagination, empathy and connection through live performances, recordings and published works.
Second Mile Development is a Huntsville-based nonprofit dedicated to strengthening families and supporting children through education, resources and community partnerships. Funds raised during the Jan. 23–24 events will directly support Second Mile programs serving North Alabama families.
