Teledyne Technologies Incorporated has announced the retirement of Janice L. Hess as president of Teledyne’s Engineered Systems Segment and Teledyne Brown Engineering. She will hand the reins over to Teledyne Brown’s senior vice president for maritime and manufacturing, Scott Hall.

Hall assumes the role on March 21 this year, but Hess’ retirement is not until July 31. She will remain a consultant to Hall during the transition.

Hall and his maritime and manufacturing teams have successfully provided strong engineering and advanced manufacturing solutions for harsh environments in the space, defense, energy and maritime industries.

He has worked on numerous, critical U.S. Department of Defense, Department of Energy and NASA programs first as a small business owner and later with Teledyne as a program manager who has since held various roles with increasing responsibility.

“I want to thank Jan for her 20 years of dedicated service and contributions to the company,” said Robert Mehrabian, chairman, president and CEO of Teledyne Technologies Inc. “Under Jan’s leadership, the Engineered Systems Segment’s systems engineering, integration, and advanced technology development capabilities were significantly strengthened, and the business grew through successful execution of complex programs for our defense, space and energy customers.

“I have closely watched Scott’s successful delivery of our current maritime and manufacturing programs, and I look forward to working with him as he builds upon our capabilities and programs.”

During her career at Teledyne, Hess held leadership positions in critical operational and financial roles and has served as president of Teledyne’s Engineered Systems Segment and Teledyne Brown Engineering, Inc. Prior to that, she held the roles of executive vice president, COO, vice president of Finance and CFO for the segment.

Teledyne Brown Engineering has successfully delivered innovative systems, integration, operations, and technology development worldwide for over seven decades.

Teledyne Technologies Inc. provides sophisticated instrumentation, digital imaging products and software, aerospace and defense electronics, and engineered systems internationally.
