Mentorship takes center stage at Women in Technology program

HUNTSVILLE — Mentorship, in life as in business, has dozens of benefits ranging from helping people set goals and manage growth, to just listening and providing valuable feedback that can help prevent a new business owner from making common mistakes.

Mentorship is the focus of Women in Technology Huntsville’s M-Power mentoring program launch June 22. It will be 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the University of Alabama at Huntsville’s Invention to Innovation Center.

The event is free to the public but there is limited seating, so RSVP is required. Click here to reserve your seat(s).

The event features a lineup including moderator Dr. Kuan Collins, director of the Innovation Factory at SAIC; and speakers Dr. Yudi Ross, founder of Creating A Seat; and Rashida Wilson, director of Experiential Learning Opportunities at Alabama A&M.

The main topic for discussion is Imposter Syndrome – what it is and how to turn it into a champion’s mindset.

There will also be opportunities for networking and mentor speed-dating, and plenty of food.

Women in Technology Huntsville is an Alabama-focused community platform aimed at educating, encouraging and empowering women with the necessary expertise and connections to succeed in STEM career fields.
