Huntsville-based Torch Technologies has been named to Inc. Magazine’s 2026 Best Workplaces list, earning recognition in the Government Services industry category.

The annual list honors companies that Inc. says have created exceptional workplace cultures and environments that support employees and business success across in-person, remote and hybrid work settings.

According to Inc., companies selected for the list underwent a comprehensive evaluation process that included employee surveys conducted by Quantum Workplace and an audit of workplace benefits. The surveys measured factors including management effectiveness, professional development opportunities, employee engagement and overall company culture.

Torch Technologies President Brad Walker said the company’s employee-owned structure plays a major role in shaping its workplace environment.

“Being 100% employee-owned creates a culture where every person has a genuine stake in our success,” Walker said. “It fosters accountability, collaboration, and a long-term mindset because employees aren’t just contributing to the company—they are owners helping shape its future.”

Walker said the company invests in professional development, leadership opportunities and employee growth, which he said benefits both the workforce and customers.

Inc. Editorial Director Bonny Ghosh said this year’s honorees demonstrated a sustained commitment to their employees.

“This year’s Best Workplaces list goes beyond great company culture — it highlights companies making meaningful and sustained investment in their employees,” Ghosh said. “Even in a labor market that favors employers, these companies understand that an intentional and authentic commitment to their teams drives stronger employee retention, engagement, and ultimately, a stronger business overall.”

Torch Technologies is a Huntsville-based, employee-owned company that provides research, development and engineering services supporting defense and national security programs. The company is part of the Starfish Holdings family of businesses.
