ATHENS — Just call it “marinara for Main Street” or “canoli for a cause.”

Whatever you decide, today offers a chance to not only enjoy some pizza and other Italian foods but also to lend a hand to Athens businesses.

From 4-8 p.m. today, Valentina’s Pizzeria is partnering with Athens Main Street in a fundraiser to help rebuild downtown Athens in the wake of the Dec. 28 tornado.

Several businesses and the area were heavily damaged from the EF1 storm that ripped through the heart of Athens. Some businesses still haven’t recovered or reopened.

To help them out, a portion of all sales today at Valentina’s, 25783 Huntsville Brownsferry Road in Madison, will be donated directly to help restore public spaces and local businesses damaged by the storm.

Dine in and take out orders are included.
